APP PRIVACY POLICY
ScanMate: QR & Barcode Scanner

ELMAX REPAIR LLC provides ScanMate: QR & Barcode Scanner (ScanMate). This policy describes how the app accesses, uses, stores and shares information.
1. Information processed by ScanMate
Camera frames are used to recognize QR codes and barcodes on your device. ScanMate does not save or upload camera frames. Photos or screenshots selected through Android’s photo picker are accessed for local code recognition and are not uploaded by ScanMate. Scanned or generated content may contain links, text, Wi-Fi network names and passwords, contact details, phone numbers, email addresses or locations encoded in codes. Reading a location from a code does not access your device’s location.
2. Local storage and accounts
Scan history, generated content, favorites and preferences are stored locally in Android app-private storage. ScanMate does not require an account and has no developer-operated backend or cloud synchronization service.
3. Advertising and analytics
ScanMate version 1.1.2 contains no advertising or analytics SDKs. ScanMate does not transmit scanned or generated content to ELMAX REPAIR LLC.
4. Sharing and external actions
When you choose Share or Export, Android passes the selected content or file to the destination you choose. Opening a website, preparing an email or message, opening the dialer, viewing a location or adding a contact may pass relevant content to another app. Those apps and services follow their own privacy policies. Wi-Fi QR codes contain network credentials; share them only with intended recipients.
5. Retention and deletion
History records remain until you delete them, clear app data or uninstall ScanMate. Preferences remain until changed or app data is removed. Settings provides individual history deletion, Clear non-favorites and Clear all history. Clear all history also removes temporary QR images and history/batch CSV exports created by ScanMate. Otherwise, temporary exports remain until Android clears the cache, you clear the app’s cache or data, or uninstall the app. Files saved outside the app or shared with other apps must be deleted separately in those locations. ScanMate cannot remove recipients’ copies.
6. Security
Android’s app sandbox restricts ordinary access to ScanMate’s private storage by other apps. ScanMate does not add separate database encryption. CSV exports prefix potentially executable spreadsheet values with an apostrophe to help prevent formula interpretation; original history records remain unchanged. No storage method provides an absolute security guarantee. Protect your device and review sensitive content before sharing.
7. Permissions
Camera permission enables live scanning. Gallery scanning accesses images you select through Android’s photo picker. Vibration is used for optional scan feedback. ScanMate does not request device-location, contacts-reading or SMS-reading permissions.
8. Support and policy updates
If you email support, we receive the information you choose to send and use it to respond to your request. Our email provider also processes the message under its own policies. Keep sensitive scan content out of support emails unless necessary. You can request deletion of support correspondence by contacting us; applicable provider retention and legal obligations may affect deletion. We may update this policy as the app or its practices change, and will revise the effective date on this page.
